Postdoc position available in zebrafish

The Institute for Research in Ophthalmology (IRO) is looking for a talented young PhD to join our zebrafish program. In this position, he/she will be responsible to dissect the molecular mechanisms implicated in the development of the eye and, using the zebrafish as a model organism, to investigate the role of the genes identified in human patients by our linkage & mapping group. This program is financed for a period of three years.

The candidate should have a good experience with zebrafish and developmental studies. Strong ties with other zebrafish groups are an advantage.

IRO, a research institute affiliated to the EPFL and the University of Lausanne, is located in Sion, in the centre of the Swiss Alps, at about 100 km from Lausanne. You can access our web page for further information and description of our research activities (www.irovision.ch).

Postdoc position available in functional genomics

The Institute for Research in Ophthalmology (IRO) is looking for a talented young PhD to join a research program that investigates the function of newly discovered genes responsible for human ophthalmic disorders (see Schorderet et al. Am J Hum Genet.2008; Polok et al. Am J Hum Genet 2009). In this position, he/she will be responsible to dissect the role of these proteins, their expression, interaction and regulation, at a cellular level as well as in animal models, with a long term goal to develop virus-based gene therapy. This program is financed for a three-year period.

The candidate should have a good experience in molecular biology, cellular culture and animal research.

IRO, a research institute affiliated to the EPFL and the University of Lausanne, is located in Sion, in the centre of the Swiss Alps, at about 100 km from Lausanne. You can access our web page for further information and description of our research activities (www.irovision.ch).
